Horticultural Sales Person – Part-time position that has potential for full time position. Establishes customer relationships in person and on the phone through prompt and courteous service; maintains current knowledge of inventory, prices, horticulture practices, and sales techniques; and cares for, grooms, and displays stock to ensure quality.
Requirements include one to two years retail experience in horticulture or related industry and preferably an Associates or higher degree in horticulture, forestry, environmental science or related field.
Seasonal employees are hired for Southwood’s peak seasons of March-June and September-November. Southwood Landscape & Garden Center operates 7 days a week in many departments. Scheduled working hours and days vary based on the position, department, and season.
Work shifts vary between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The working environment is outside in many cases and work continues in the heat, rain, and all types of weather. Must be willing to work weekends and overtime during peak times.
Unless otherwise noted, the positions currently available are temporary seasonal positions and the working hours fluctuate between 10 and 40 hours per week.
