Pat's one of the most familiar faces at Southwood, and with good reason: he's been with the company for over 25 years. He started out as a landscape foreman, and was promoted to assistant retail manager in 2000. Eleven years later he was promoted to Retail Manager. A Bartlesville native, Pat worked for Yorman Nursery for three years before moving to Tulsa in 1986. He attended Tulsa Community College, where he took a variety of horticulture and design classes. Pat is married with five children and enjoys golfing, fishing, and exploring Oklahoma with his wife.
Paul James, The Gardener Guy, joined Southwood in the summer of 2013 as marketing manager. He's perhaps best known for his HGTV program, “Gardening by the Yard,” much of which was shot at his home in Tulsa and at Southwood. Paul was first bitten by the gardening bug as a child while spending summers on his grandparents’ farm in Arkansas, and he’s been a gardening fanatic ever since. In college, while earning his B.S. in chemistry, Paul studied botany, plant physiology, and plant pathology “for the fun of it.” He earned his Master Gardener certification in 1983, the first year the program was offered in Tulsa. Paul and his wife, Carrie, have been married since 1979. They have three children and two grandchildren.

Each year she looks forward to finding and introducing new varieties of annuals to Southwood’s customers, and seeing their familiar faces each spring!
