What better place to take a school trip than the Southwood vegetable farm? Today, Riverfield preschool summer schoolers came out to learn how their vegetables are grown. From harvesting to washing, Ms. Vicki Cantys’ students were able to see each step taken to get produce market-ready. The experience didn’t stop there. At the end of the trip, each student participated in the day’s potato harvest. Nothing like getting your hands dirty to really appreciate where your food comes from! After the kiddos had gathered quite a sizable basket of farm-fresh Desiree potatoes, they took them home to enjoy! We hope our Riverfield visitors enjoyed their time at Southwood Farms as much as we did. Come on back anytime!
