Yo-Ho-Ho and a Bottle of Rum! While most spirits are made from grains, most rums are based on molasses, a byproduct of the sugar-processing industry. And most rums are still made in the Caribbean, where tropical plants abound. Sample both light and dark rums -- and light refreshments -- with host Paul James, and have a look at Southwood’s selection of tropical plants. Along the way, learn about Paul’s favorite organic pesticide, which was discovered in an abandoned rum distillery on the island of Barbados. Seriously!
Registration is required. Class limited. Pirate costumes are discouraged, but eye-patches might be fun.
